Graphic Recording at the Inclusion Conference. Ethnic Community Services Cooperative wanted a different way to capture the messages at their Keys to Inclusion conference being held in Sydney during October 2015. They commissioned me to be their graphic recorder for the day and requested it to be created on a large roll of paper. The final would be framed and hung in their offices. The conference included the launch of Keys to Inclusive Practice. A brand new resource that has been designed as a practical and interactive tool that Children’s Services Educators can use to guide their daily reflection of how they incorporate inclusion into their daily practice and program.[space] Some of the conference messages included: Celebrating diversity / Keys to Inclusive Practice Being, Belonging, Becoming. It’s every child’s right. Children’s rights are human rights. Inclusion based on: culturally and linguistically diverse, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, refugee, gender, disability.[space] Each speaker was to have a quick cartoon version of themselves and graphics of their key messages. I think it makes it a little more personal having a mini portrait next to their message. To understand the goals of the day I was given an outline of key note speakers, panel discussions and branding to keep to the bright colours of the day. Their logo was aptly, Keys. My paper was clipped to a whiteboard, my markers, inks and notes on the table, a deep breath and it was time to draw! Each speaker was inspirational and the key messages were filled with passion and hope. The final illustration is a mixture of identified problems and possible solutions. I hope you find it an interesting read. Graphic Recording Inclusion Conference

Wedding Speech Boards. With half an audience speaking only French, this best man needed some help with his speech. It was Greg's idea and he sent me a brief for all four boards. Not only did he get his message across, it was part of the entertainment and a great present for the bride and groom. Wedding Speech Boards
It was a lovely office space to work at for the afternoon. Made drawing caricatures quite relaxing. Cruising for a Portrait
